John & Amy Jinks

John and Amy’s story began on a November night in 2001. That night, a persistent friend finally convinced Amy to go with him to his friend’s recording studio where her life would forever change. It was there she met John. They became instant friends. There was an evident spark or an ignition of something and after three years of friendship, they finally found something more. They were married in March of 2007.

Amy always had a secret fantasy of being a singer while John had began his musical journey early in life. It was no surprise to anyone who knew them that they would end up together. It wasn’t until 2010 that John and Amy started exploring music together. Through one of life’s challenging moments, they found yoga. It was this that inspired Amy to open her heart and throat to sing. John’s patience was unwavering while Amy began her musical education at Berklee College of Music.

After meeting so many wonderful heart-conscious artists like Sean Johnson and the Wild Lotus Band, HuDost, Christie Lenee and Gershone and Krishna, during their work at the Mahabhuta Yoga Festival, their creative fire was kindled. They began seeing a musical path emerging. They created The Genesis Party: a collaborative music project where musicians gather with non-musicians and create an original piece of music. The Genesis Party allowed them to collaborate with others while exploring their own creativity. In 2017, with the creative fire now fully ablaze, Amy declared that she wanted to make a full length album of Kundalini mantras.

In 2018, they began performing together at yoga studios and festivals and recorded a sweet, short album of lullabies; all the while musing on the bigger, full length album. The pandemic, and the global shutdown that ensued, enabled them the time to focus on producing and releasing the single, Mul mantra, available on all your downloading and streaming platforms.

Currently, as the world continues to turn and the animals continue to breathe, John and Amy safely perform their awareness expanding music live, in person, and virtually from their living room, to practitioners of self-healing and wellness around the world. They graciously offer a bit of space to steep in harmonious vibes.
